Sales were down for Green Lantern in the 90s but that didn't mean they needed to make kid lantern. It's just that the terrible writer Ron Mars didn't know how to write for hal and is awful with continuity. He wanted to make his own character, remaking a gl as something of a mix between silver surfer and spiderman, but now with extreme daddy issues. Kyle has always been the worst go by far. He never adds anything to any story he is a part of and really just divides the gl fan base.

Kyle is the worst of all lanterns, kid lantern and nothing more. Ron Mars is one of the worst writers in comic history. He has no comprehension of how things work. Consistency is out the door, power levels mean nothing to him. Everyone can just absorb energy all the time, as if it is something inherent in all superheros. Continuity means little to nothing with Ron Mars. Worst GL series ever. His whole White Lantern BS is over played nonsense as well. Can never get gritty sci-fi with kid lantern. But I guess if you are a child, you could appreciate Kyle.

You seem like someone who thinks there is some feminist agenda against men. That's absurd. This is just a comic book. They are just trying to make it interesting. They just have been doing it poorly.
