It hasn't fully been about race at all! Mostly it's people complaining that Astrid doesn't look the same as the animation! And that's fair. If they cannot keep up to their own standards of a 1:1 adaptation, why make one at all?

You all are missing the point. You have marketed a live action adaptation to be 1:1 the same to the animated movie, how dare you complain about people wanting the characters to be exactly the same? It truly does not matter if her race is a plot point to the story, YOU HAVE SUCCEEDED IN MAKING AN ICONIC ANIMATED ASTRID, why are u blaming people for ing Astrid for how she was in the animation?
