Netflix's Returning Sci-Fi Anthology Show From David Fincher Has Critics & Audiences Divided On Rotten Tomatoes
The previous seasons had episodes based on stories by some of the best writers in science fiction today. Sonnie's Edge was written by Peter F Hamilton, one of the greatest modern sci-fi / action / gore fest authors. Mason's Rats was written by Neal Asher, another excellent writer although this short story is a little off his beaten path it is still quirky and fun. This season the writing, with a couple of exceptions, most notable Zeke Finds Religion, seems second place. The music video sets a glum pattern where style replaced substance. The season wasn't bad, but it could do with going back to the best sci-fi writers of the day and working the animations from there. There are enough great stories out there without having to make music videos.
