My burning question is why they should creating lies surrounding it? Whats the reason? Why just not tell everything according to truth like;

1. "yes, we have to stay in silo to survive, we, cant go outside because radiation, you go out you die, not until xxxx year" put some thought that everyone shared same devastation, perhaps that can remove any hierarchy system

2. they also can keep all past items and knowledge and ing down to next generation without hiding it. Perhaps makes the IT vault accessible to public. With accessible knowledge, they should able to build elevator or some contraption that could make their live easier

3. Do cleaning job just like regular job, put proper suit, out, clean, then back in
