Reimagining Aslan misses the true heart of Narnia.

C.S. Lewis wrote Aslan as a Christ figure — intentionally male — and both the prophecies (like Aslan shaking his mane to break winter’s curse) and key plot points depend on that truth. Changing him risks hollowing out the story and alienating the very fans you need to draw in.

The conversation among fans is already overwhelmingly negative. Many have seemingly given up on this project — and sadly, it may already be too late.
