It just wasn’t good. The 90’s cliches are still too recent to be funny, for a similar reason That 80’s Show failed. I guess there was just something more magical about the 70’s, more creative music and style etc. and the original cast just worked somehow, they had a great chemistry. You can’t just mash up a good cake and add new flavors. Less is more.
