It is even more upsetting considering he got ousted as Superman less than a month later. But to be real, they fumbled hard by losing Henry, he clearly stated a few years ago he is committed to the five season plan as long as the show continues to honor the authors work; so it’s pretty obvious why he left. Though I personally never had a problem with the show before this, keeping Cavill should have been priority number 1; from everything I hear he voiced some valid concerns and they just blazed over them. Happy for him though and I’ll eventually watch the next season(s), I just need time.

I liked his more feral quality in battle, while still holding that tactical quality Maximus had, and both are just vicious fighters. However, I don’t think the newer saying, “where we are death is not” fully worked, not just due to the fact that Lucius and his men repeatedly dealt out death, but also (SPOILERS) every other main character besides Lucius also died in this movie. That being said, I really enjoyed this movie and Lucius’s portrayal in no way dishonored or shamed Maximus’s.
