Yeah, I'm with you. Paramount sort of forced their hands by threatening to make another film without them. At that point it may have been a bit of a arm wrestle to claim the IP. There are a lot of things that seem like didn't manifest in the film due conflicts with the film comp. Lawrence Fishburne being replaced for no really practical reason other than salary concerns. I also have a theory that Lana originally intended for Neo and Trinity to be played by other actors until they their identity but that the studio shot the idea down but I could be wrong about that. It just seemed like it would have brought back some of the intrigue of the first film.

I believe that the Miyagi storyline was originally intended to be closed by her character but I'm sure that they had to keep their options open knowing that there was a possibility that it might not happen. The recent story of Macchio presenting what was the ground work for the dream sequence hints at this.

It's all been a chaotic mess with what they've done with the IP with few surprising moments here and there sprinkled throughout. As per usual I think that the timing is way off with Mandalorian movie. Talk about not striking while the iron is hot. The movie should have been released like two and a half years ago.

I think that it would be pretty easy for them to write Dre in as well as a cameo as well. Might be kind of cool to have him show up and help the when the new kid is being bullied.

It's interesting that Machio seems like he's being portrayed as having a major role in this film in the early promotional poster but Koves comment about him "shooting for 10 days" seems to suggest otherwise. I wonder if he'll receive any backlash behind the scenes for saying something so specific.
