TL:DR whole thing. However, on the issue of the empty cargo hold...the "chess" board is not in the cargo hold, its in an equipment area just behind the cockpit. The cargo hold takes up the whole back end of the ship and I don't think we ever see it. Also, the two prongs at the front of the ship can actually hold a container in between them, which I think can be seen being used in the Solo movie, where there's no gap between the forks.

And I think she only LOOKS like a piece of junk, especially to people who aren't aware of her reputation, which, given how beat up, cut up, modified by Han and Chewie she is, that's probably fair. It's like seeing a beat up old car that someone has worked on, without knowing that it has been supped up and drives surprisingly well.
