John Carpenter Disagrees With Fans Over His 1983 Cult Horror Classic, But I'm On The Director's Side
I saw this one in the theater upon it's original release. Though not his best work I found it enjoyable for what it was. I watched it about 10 years ago when I did a Carpenter marathon. I think I'm about due for a rewatch.
Sydney Sweeney's Remake Of Sci-Fi Cult Classic Gets Optimistic Update Despite 3 Years In Development
Well, in their defense, at least with Barbarella (1968) we're talking a film that is FIFTY-SEVEN YEARS OLD. Up against such films like King Kong, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, Nosferatu & The Texas Chainsaw Massacre which have had TWO OR MORE remakes each in my lifetime this is downright respectable.
Exclusive Superman Image Reveals New Look At David Corenswet's Man Of Steel, Krypto And Robots Inside The Fortress Of Solitude
I'm sorry, but I really hate the suit. He looks like he should be standing outside a used car lot promoting those SUPER Deals or the disappointment that you hired for your kid's birthday party. Maybe Gunn'll have him make balloon animals. 🎈🎈🎈
10 Strongest Iron Man Villains Created by Stan Lee, Ranked by Power Level
So the article's title, in actuality, should read "CO-CREATED by Stan Lee". And with some of these even that's being too generous.
Star Wars Already Has The Perfect Princess Leia Recast... & She Even Has A Fantastic Pitch
I really liked her in Obi Wan (and I usually ABHOR kiddie stuff in shows)so I'd be very interested in seeing a "coming of age" series starring Vivien Lyla Blair. Hey, just think, we might even get more VADER out of it!!!
Star Wars Already Has The Perfect Princess Leia Recast... & She Even Has A Fantastic Pitch
Okay, you do realize people actually age and that that "little girl" is THIRTEEN now and at the perfect age for a Leia prequel series as well as forming opinions all on her own.
Mark Hamill Wants Sebastian Stan As The New Luke Skywalker
Sebastian Stan could do it with ease. The man is a chameleon. If he's got Mark Hamill's blessing, why not? Heck, they could even get Hamill to dub the dialogue so he's still part of the performance.
Snow White Crosses Global Box Office Milestone After 6 Weekends In Theaters That Is Still Below Its Budget
With future streaming & DVD/Blu-ray sales it's going to eventually turn a profit. One of the biggest box office bombs in film history was 1963's Cleopatra. Through countless re-releases, VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, digital , streaming, etc. it is still making money to this very day over 60 years later. Nearly everyone hated the Star Wars sequel trilogy, and though not box office bombs, those films are going to continue to make money loooong after we all reading this are gone. Trust me, Disney ain't sweating this. Their client base is as solid as bedrock because it is made up of KIDS. There will always be babies being born who will grow into children watching Disney films who will grow into nostalgic adults sharing these same films with their children for as long as civilization exists.
Marvel Tries To Shut Down Justin Baldoni's Deadpool & Wolverine Nicepool Claims, Baldoni Doubles Down
Whether it was intentional or not is irrelevant as it would still be considered parody and thus protected under the first amendment. U.S. courts have made it abundantly clear over the years that parody & satire are not defamatory. Baldoni's case has absolutely no merit. Honestly, I'm surprised the judge hasn't tossed it yet.
Krysten Ritter Says She Created Jessica Jones' Look, But Does Marvel Care to Agree?
Daniel, there is a world of difference between a signature suit like Batman or Spider-Man and a character's wardrobe. Actors put their own personal touches on roles all the time whether it be accents, affectations, mannerisms, hairstyles or clothing. In effect they are creating. Everything Krysten Ritter brought to her performance was creating. Actors are not mindless puppets after all.
10 Comic Moments The MCU Needs To Steal To Fix The Hulk’s On-Screen Story
The MCU should do a story where Banner, while searching through the Avengers computer files, stumbles across private Stark documents (Fakes or no) detailing how the Avengers could not trust the Hulk and had protocols in place to secure him if he ever went out of control. Specifically, Black Widow's "romance" was, in actuality, simply a means to keep him pacified with Natasha working under the direction of Stark and the rest of the Avengers. This obvious betrayal enrages Banner and to avenge himself he wages WORLD WAR HULK against the entire MCU. They could make Hulk the next big bad in the phases. He can even evolve (or devolve) into various Hulks as his vengeance tour advances ultimately becoming the Maestro. Eventually, they could find that Doom orchestrated the whole thing culminating in a battle royale of Dr. Doom vs the entire Hulk "family". To sweeten the deal, they could even bring back the original Avengers in, possibly distorted, flashback sequences that further fuels the Hulks rage. I think it would be a perfect fit in the MCU storyline. Just my two cents worth!! 🪙 🪙
10 Actors We Still Can't Believe Were In Superhero Movies
I don't see how you can include Clancy Brown on this list. His resume is chock-full of animated voice work and live action appearances in the comic/videogame genre. Heck, he was Rawhide in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension back in 1984 (Not a comic book but evocative of the genre) The Kurgan in Highlander and the Frankenstein monster in The Bride. He was also the voice of Lex Luthor in numerous DC animated shows & movies including Superman, Justice League and LEGO. Brown also played Gen. Wade Eiling in CW'sThe Flash series. I don't find his appearance in Green Lantern that much of a stretch. Sorry. As for Michael Caine? Jaws: the Revenge. 'Nuff said. And Anthony Hopkins would star in a movie reading cereal boxes if it paid enough. Kenneth Branagh directing was more of a shock. And how is Bale's Gor the God Butcher a "minor role"!?! He's the main villain of the freakin' movie!!! Again, not a shock. Heck, even Angelina Jolie had done a number of genre films prior to The Eternals such as Tomb Raider and Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow. You would have been better off with Harrison Ford, Robert Redford, Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Margot Robbie, Jeremy Irons & Sylvester Stallone if you ask me.
10 Strongest Daredevil Villains Created by Stan Lee, Ranked by Power Level
I agree 100%. Even crediting Lee as co-creator would be generous at best. Lee didn't even write the books and was nothing more than a functioning editor. This is the exact reason why Wally Wood left Daredevil in the first place. Wood was plotting, writing & drawing the entire book yet only getting credited & paid as the artist. The so-called "Marvel Method" was the most self-serving conceit of Stan " the Hack" Lee and cost Marvel such legendary talent as Wally Wood, Steve Ditko & Jack "the King" Kirby. What a shame!
50 Years Later, Marvel Fans Still Don't Get What Punisher's Logo Is All About
No, JeromeM, they don't "hate their own fans". They are also not total slaves to them either. At the end of the day comics are a business. We may enjoy the fantasy of the product they put out, but that is exactly what it is, a product. A commodity. And as a business, they have every right to do what they see fit in the furtherance and protection of that commodity. Crying about it and taking it as a personal affront serves no purpose and is a fool's errand. All I can advise is if you don't like the change, and this is with anything, simply don't buy the book. After all, there are DECADES of classic Punisher material available that you can still have fun with.
Krysten Ritter Says She Created Jessica Jones' Look, But Does Marvel Care to Agree?
I think the writer is overthinking this. Yes, obviously the Jessica Jones character had a signature look in the comics and yes, Krysten Ritter helped create the look for the live action character. Some actors do take a bigger interest in their wardrobe as it sometimes helps in better defining their character. That said, Ritter is not necessarily "lying" when she states in an interview that she created the look. The majority of actors who take comic book roles are not necessarily comic book fans prior to taking the job so comics become part of their research to create the character they are bringing to life. They also put their own personal touches on it as the character/actor has become a symbiosis of sorts. So, did Krysten Ritter create Jessica Jones' look for the show? Obviously. Seriously, don't sweat the small stuff. 😉
Why Does The MCU's Silver Surfer CGI Look So Weird
OMG!!! This is the God's honest first time I have heard someone who actually liked Gladiator 2 !!! 🤯
As for Pascal? What can I say? Not a fan. Maybe it's a bit overexposure as it sometimes seems like the only two available actors in Hollywood are him and Jason Momoa. Sheesh! 🫣
Now, if I were a casting director, I would have gone with either Nicholas Hoult, Cillian Murphy or Anson Mount.
Why Does The MCU's Silver Surfer CGI Look So Weird
Because it doesn't matter, Harry.
Why Does The MCU's Silver Surfer CGI Look So Weird
Sorry, Ian, but the Silver Surfer was solely Jack "The King" Kirby's thought baby. Lee only came in after the fact tweaking and editing the original pre-conceptualized pages. Didn't stop him from taking credit for it though.
Why Does The MCU's Silver Surfer CGI Look So Weird
Nobody asked for Iron Man either and just look how that turned out.
Why Does The MCU's Silver Surfer CGI Look So Weird
Nope, I just can't do it. I can't accept Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards. Bad enough he ruined Maxwell Lord in WW84 but not Mr. Fantastic, too!!! He has become so one note. He collected a paycheck for Gladiator 2 and not much else. He has fast settled into "Pedro Pascal as Pedro Pascal as (insert character name)" territory, much like Tom Cruise. I wish the guy would take up painting or something.
As for Silver Surfer, I got no problem with it. She looks like a chromed Brigitte Helm from Fritz Lang's Metropolis. I gotta say I kinda like it.
