A couple of favorite books that are under the radar: The Myst Reader by Rand and Robyn Miller. And, City at World's End by Edmond Hamilton. Myst was also a very early video game. Myst is about a race who live inside earth who think themselves as Gods as some have the ability to create worlds and its inhabitants. The City at World's End is about a nuclear bomb sending a 1950s town to future earth where humans have move moved to distant planets. The earth people partner with future humans and aliens to kick start earth's core to warm the planet.
