I was wondering how Reacher got away with the security not finding the police badge in his pillow since they were checking thoroughly in them. Having the maid as a twist was an interesting plot point, but one even considers why they would have stopped there there knowing they they were infiltrated. I was surprised that Reacher would not have taken the badge to the police officer that he was meeting and therefore could have given it back to his partner. This would have been more consistent with his intellect. But then, I do understand that there has to be plot bridges too.
