Funny how no one said a word about this scene 20 years ago, in fact before now several of the actors commented on how sweet it was.

Here's a good way and probably the sane way to see it. He was a guy in love with his besties girl...it happens. He meant no harm, he just needed an outlet for the feelings. If anyone was paying attention to the scene they would have heard him say something to the effect of That's enough now, which meant he let it out and now time to move on.

So, now suddenly these actors feel like they have to sound good with the times and do a 180 which is up to them, but it's kind of self serving and sad. It was a scene from a movie made 20 years ago, no big deal.
