BTVS is my favorite television series -- although I'm really fond of Supernatural. As the author of the article stated, the characters became old friends, with whom we had the privelege of hanging out once a week. And that dialogue -- Buffy telling a terrified Zander afraid he's about to be transformed into a fish monster, "Don't reach for the tartar sauce just yet!" -- hysterical! I just hope the reboot isn't wokified. . . .

Regarding "Normal Again," the story line of the superhero being browbeaten into believing that he or she is imagining his or her powers is a trope in science fiction and fantasy, occurring not only on BTVS but also in Star Trek: DSN [Captain Sisko], Smallville [Clark Kent] and the original Charmed [Piper].

I found "Nemesis" to have a surprising impact. The manner in which Chakotay adopted the aliens' patois -- using phrases such as "it is sharper" rather than, say, "it is better" -- was plausible and effectively revealed the power of the propaganda program. I am even sometimes tempted to use those phrases myself!
