The writers of these stories should do a little more research. Ripley didn't die in Alien³ by falling into molten metal, they unsuccessfully tried to drown the Alien by doing so, but it survived only to be shock-cooled by the sprinkler system. Ripley died by jumping/intentionaly falling into the furnace.

He'd be awful, he's too rough and too cheesy, and that is saying something after Moore and Brosnan. The next Bond should be Theo James, but I think the producers are far more worried about a name they can sell in the US than the quality of the films these days.
