It is entirely too soon to write off Origins because the Gibbs we meet is not the taciturn bedrock of dependability and experience we loved in the original. Instead, we get a great front-row seat to watching a trainwreck of Marine wracked by guilt and so lost he drifts into law enforcement almost by accident. It is the possibility of the journey, with its end destination well known but the path obscured by tales yet untold that I find intriguing. I'm committed to the first season unless the quality drops into all filler and no killer. Cast is solid, writing is on point, and the way back machine to 1991 is rolling quite nicely. Bail out if you must, but I'm rolling with the team.
