See AllDoctor Who Season 14 Subtly Hints Ncuti Gatwa Will Break A 16-Year Regeneration Streak
The amount of homophobia in these comments is either insane or just funny. The fact that the only complaint people are really explaining is homosexuality and kissing strangers doesn't even make sense. 1. The doctor doesn't have a gender like us so whether he kisses men or women doesn't even make a difference. Unless you think that the doctor should stop loving river song when regenerated as a woman than it really doesn't matter. 2. Homosexuality as well as romance with strangers is not new. 11 flirted with everyone and made out with numerous people including Amy. 13 was "lesbian" (again I don't think time lords really would differentiate and have sexuality like us.) Also 12 said the master was his first man-crush. Even 10 had some romance with strangers like madame de pompadour and romance with rose despite being more aroace presenting than other modern doctors. 3. Different incarnations of the doctor have always expressed sexuality differently so there is no reason to be so upset when the doctor continues to change as he always has. 4. Being progressive is not "catering" to younger audience , it is simply not living under a rock. The show should change as social norms change and it should reflect respect for people who are part of minority groups. I love that the show is defending and representing people of color and the lgbtq+ community. This all being said the show is not perfect. The writers are still figuring out some dynamics. I think some of the episodes have had unnatural pacing and i can see how for some the show might lose some appeal to whovians/long time fans as it tries to be more understandable and open to new fans. It is hard to get used to the differences but I already am seeing improvements and the fact that they are bringing back something from older who shows they are not unwilling to confuse new fans a bit.
