I'm sorry, but Superman has been my hero for the last 55 years. And the thought of a weak Superman a Superman that routinely bleeds, whose bones crack and crunch easily does not sit well with me. Superman's weakness is Kryptonite a red Sun and innocent people! I believe that this more comic bookish Superman was not the way to go!
