See AllOnyx Storm Needs To End One Empyrean Series Trend After Both Fourth Wing & Iron Flame Did It
I hate the resurrection trope. Jack coming back was pure BS. That was clearly a death that was witnessed by many.
If Naolin is actually alive I would say that's more of a trope gray area. The story behind his supposed death was very vague and felt like an assumption. Also he wasn't a character that the audience has actually met. Whether he's dead or alive there is definitely a lot of backstory to be learned.
I don't believe Violet's dad will come back to life but I do think he'll play a large part in the next book. I'm guessing when Violet, Mira, and Brennan go to clear our their mother's office and burn her stuff they'll find things that had to do with her father and his research.
I hope she doesn't go choose to resurrect the venin. I could see the option to use the horcrux trope and I really hope she doesn't.
A Wild Rhysand Theory Perfectly Connects A Court Of Thorns & Roses To Another Sarah J. Maas Series
It doesn't work. Maeve never had children. In Kingdom of Ash Dorian asks her if she ever had children and she tells him no, that she never let herself ripen. Also in the same section she tells him that valg are like shape-shifters and are able to change their appearance at will. What we see described is not what she truly looks like. She even goes on to make herself look like Aelin and Manon later when she tries to seduce Erawan. I don't doubt there will be crossover but I don't see this working.
Hulu's Court Of Thorns & Roses Show Must Acknowledge A Harsh Reality About The First Book
I basically visualized Disney's Beauty and the Beast for the majority of the first book. That's basically all they need to do. Just add in a little more Stockholm syndrome and you're good to go.
I'm Just Not Buying The Uglies Movie's Most Unnecessary Sci-Fi Book Change
I knew going into it I was probably gonna dislike it. The series is one of my comfort books and I can't tell you how many times I've read it in the last 20 years. With that said I decided to take it at face value.
My problem is they broke a cardinal rule for me. They completely changed a main character. They made Peris the exact opposite of himself. In Uglies he doesn't have much of a role but he does in the rest of the series.
Another small thing that bothers me is the diversity of pretties. There shouldn't be strictly white or black characters. In the second book, Pretties, I think they talk about how the operation is supposed to bring everyone towards the mean and average out features. One of the problems with Rusties is how they categorized people by skin color. The operation solves that by creating a limits. A character in the second book dyes his hair black with ink because the city deems black to be too extreme. I think it creates an interesting dichotomy between wanting to solve a problem such as racism and the invasive control the city creates in order to make that happen. Instead of creating an environment of inclusivity they just bury the problem altogether. I didn't expect them to actually tackle that in the movie. That's way too nuanced and a very small part of the book. But I still thought it would be interesting to see it played out.
