Or you just have a terrible understanding of the fact that while inflation has been increasing, base wages have stayed the same. Wages do NOT increase anywhere near the same rates as inflation does. If people's wages were also higher, then a lot more people would be fine paying $100. And yet, since that first GTA game, inflation increased at a much higher rate, so people don't see the justification of games being $100. People are barely getting used to games costing $70 now, but jumping up all the way to $100 for the BASE game is just dumb.

And that's not even taking into advertising either. The people are literally creating the hype, and doing the advertising for Rockstar. They don't need to do nearly the same amount of advertising as previous games. People have been making such a big deal of GTA 6 that Rockstar is going to save a lot on advertising lmao
