See All10 Harsh Realities Of Watching Gilmore Girls Season 1, 24 Years Later
10. I don't think there was fatphobia coz there were many characters like Ms Patty, Babette, Sookie, Taylor who were never mocked for their weight.
9. Agree that Dean was a red flag.
8. Lorelai was a good parent. She provided for Rory, maintained a friendly relation so her daughter can reach out for anything without hesitation and she got furious when Rory doesn't keep her informed and that may happen to any concerned parent.
7. Lorelai was a self made person. Any independent person at some point may need a loan for something which they can't afford at that particular moment that doesn't make them dependent n Lorelai took a loan from her parents not handout..
Agree with u on point 5 & 6.
4. Lorelai and Rory were not mocking homemakers. When Rory and Dean got into a fight she clarifies that Dean's mother had a choice to work or stay at home, to cook or not but Donna Reed had no choice, she had to prepare so many courses of meals and make her house and herself look perfect and presentable always. So she was empathizing that homemakers have to do so much which is not fair.
Agree on point 3 &2.
1. Unfortunately it had to be that way coz Richard Gilmore was played by Edward Herrmann who ed away in 2014.
Overall the show was a delight to watch.
Gilmore Girls Confirmed The Harsh Reality Of Rory’s Journalism Career 10 Years Before A Year In The Life
Well that's one way to look at it.. Rory actually prioritized her career and declined Logan's proposal which shows she was focused still she couldn't succeed. It was a let down because Logan and Paris who were already privileged were shown successful in 'a year in life' whereas Rory coming from a humble background couldn't make it big even after having talent n ion which is harsh truth of the world.
