Andor Season 2, Episodes 1-3 Review: I’d Say I’m Surprised At How Good Andor Still Is, But It’s Star Wars’ Best TV Show For A Reason
The high quality that first defined the series is still very much in place, likely due to the same showrunners.
TRON: Ares Looks Ridiculous, And It's Exactly What I Wanted After TRON: Legacy
I haven't been this excited for a movie in a very long time. It definitely falls into the I NEED THIS NOW category!

Dune's New The Voice Twist Is Its Most Shocking Yet
Episode 6 was a kind of mash-up of several things the previous episodes had introduced. Despite it having the longest running time of all episodes it still felt a bit rushed.
One thing about streaming series, whether it be this Dune Prophecy, Rings of Power, various Star Wars shows, or Marvel etc...there seems to be an unspoken truth about all of them and that is that all of them will invariably have segments of abstract mystery played out in the form of visions or dreams or some other kind of interesting scenes that don't explain a lot or anything. It's the creators way of suggesting that the audience fill in the gap based on what they know so far. That can be fun and intriguing, but it can also be frustrating because plot points are hinted at that will only reveal themselves in subsequent seasons of said show.
I don't expect a good show to give everything away during its initial season run, but the carrot on the end of the stick trick can get old. And if it doesn't WE will because the season length for this newer medium only gives us 6-10 episodes, then we have to wait two maybe even three years for the next season to hopefully answer the questions the previous season raised.
back in the day when a show could be 1 hour every week and a season could be up to 24 episodes?
“It Was A $90M Insurance Claim”: Ridley Scott Was Asked To Reshoot All Of Gladiator Halfway Through Filming
Wow that is some seamless CGI they used because I couldn't tell you what's CGI or a stand-in when it comes to Oliver Reed's role. Then again Ridley Scott has sort of mastered the art of quick reshoots as evidenced in his Getty kidnap flick. I think the movie was to come out like a month from when the Kevin Spacey drama unfolded. Ridley was quick on the draw to suddenly refilm all of Spacey's scenes with Christopher Plummer and still make the opening date for his film. That is some take charge stuff!
Dune: Prophecy Theory Reveals What Desmond Hart Really Is, And It Sets Up Jason Momoa's Duncan Idaho Return For Dune 3
Extremely interesting stuff and I'm digging all these comments, having never read any of the books myself.
One name I'd like to bring up in all this talk of resurrections, cloning, copies and other abilities to seemingly bring the dead back to life; Sister Lila
At the end of episode 3 the last scene is of Tula attempting to bring Lila back to life using a form of technology Requella secretly showed a young Valya before Requella ed on. Would this also tie into Desmond Hart and his return to life? And for that matter Duncan's return?
There already seems to be a storyline involving bringing people back from the dead(ie. Sister Lila) firmly in place. Could it be connected or yet another way that the powerful can control life itself in the Dune universe?
Btw I love Desmond Hart's bizarreness. His story, his shocking powers and his weird mannerisms. Great acting by Travis Fimmel. He brings something to the table that I haven't really seen before as far as fallen soldiers.
As a side note I'm so thankful for this show right now and these discussions because it's helping me get my mind off of some bad personal drama, and during the holidays no less.
"One Of The Most Egregious": Spike Lee Argues Denzel Washington Should've Won The Oscar For Best Actor In His 1992 Biopic Movie
It's a devastatingly great movie on all fronts, so I totally agree with Spike. Too bad the general atmosphere during that time wasn't one to award this movie what it truly deserved, that being best director, best picture and of course best actor. Cinematography too, can't forget that.
Is The Godfather's Johnny Fontane Really Based On Frank Sinatra? (& What The Legendary Crooner Thought Of The Character)
Chasen's not Chasen. Lived across the street from it during its last days. Also what is "wheedled" and "whinging" or does your auto-correct have a stuck misplaced H?
Besides that, nice article.👍
"They Are Running Out Of Ways To Create Nostalgia": 12 Years After Disney Bought Star Wars, Lucasfilm Still Hasn't Figured Out Its Biggest Mistake
The problem isn't nostalgia and how to drum it up as much as possible in order to justify bad writing.
The problem simply is that ONE man was running the entire show because it was HIS show. He had the wisdom, creativity and intelligence to make his movies his way. The article clearly points out the one singular problem that is handled by numerous people(Kathleen Kennedy obviously included) that have no clue. And when they do have a clue it still needs to get approved by execs, consultants, writers, share holders, car valets, janitorial staff, and more.
Guess what. NONE of that was happening during Lucas' reign because it was all him in of the most important thing of all: story. Lucas=story. Without him, you have this, and it's one big bloody unorganized mess because instead of Lucas guiding his ship, it's all done by committee. And they suck at it.
One man. One vision. And many incredibly talented people to help him tell HIS story. Not yours, or yours and nope, not yours either. You took Lucas out of the kitchen and sold the Star Wars restaurant franchise to not just one person or one company, but to many people. And the food now sucks. To be fair Lucas sold his creations willingly, so if there's anyone to blame, blame him? Nah. You can't convince me that Lucas is the only good story teller in the entire world!
And George, I still want you to make that dam race car movie I KNOW you have in you. Who knows, it might reignite your ion for making movies.
And maybe one day you can buy your company, Lucasfilm, BACK from the Empire. Because they're not good at telling your stories.

What Sauron Really Is In The Lord Of The Rings: True Nature & History Explained
My God dude, she's stating facts according to your beloved. Wonderfully laying out all the convoluted writings again by your master, to us lay people like myself that may take up finally reading Tolkien's gospel. It still seems like an intimidating read but articles like this create the friction that sparks the fire that might involve me reading a bloody book(or ten) again.
Cristina- keep on, It's appreciated. And props to you for not succumbing to anger or resentment in the face of a digital presence declaring this an artificial creation.
Which, btw again, is ALL ARTIFICIAL. We're talking about fake stuff all around folks! Hopefully it's enjoyable, but it can't all be. Perfection is an illusion.

Galadriel's Replacement Is The Character The Rings Of Power Always Needed
I'm all in. I'm not a statistician nor have any stake in Amazon Prime so I could care less for numbers or popularity for that matter. Also not a diehard Tolkienite so I can't identify any gross misjustices to deem anything "fan fiction". Btw you know it's all fan fiction right? Like everything ever written by human hand? Just checking. Because even if it's directly from Tolkien or Lucas, they're fans as well or else they wouldn't have continued until they were finished.
Oh and also had to rewatch season 1's episode 8 the other day because dam there's some meaty psychological drama festering in those woods. Speaking of woods, love any depiction of Ents. So bloomin' magical!
Are we done? Oh uh to the person that mentioned wanting more Nori & the stranger; they practically devoted an entire episode to them recently! No doubt we'll see more(obviously).
Thoroughly enjoying the Lore(d),

10 Unmade Steven Spielberg Movies That Would Have Been Great
I've always been interested in Spielberg directing a Star Wars movie and now seems the perfect time for that to happen because 1) Star Wars desperately needs help and Spielberg directing a SW movie would be incredible and 2) Spielberg could use a serious boost and return to the giant mega movie genre instead of any Indiana Jones or small, intimate movies.
Star Wars Reveals Darth Maul's Crucial Role In Keeping Palpatine's Sith Identity Secret
I don't like it. To me it makes more sense for Maul to not only know that his master Sidious is really supreme chancellor Palpatine, but to also completely know that someone out there is possibly threatening to expose Palpatine as being Sidious. It would be more in tune with the Sith goal of seeking revenge and having nothing get in their way, even if this Cior doesn't actually know the full extent of Palpatine's deception [as being Sidious] and only knows that he's corrupt. That would eliminate any hesitance on Maul's part to complete his mission and he also wouldn't be asking any questions because he knows the answers.
For two individuals to be plotting something so huge and far reaching as the takeover of the galaxy, I'd imagine that both master and apprentice completely confide in each other and don't hide many things from each other because of how crucial, complex and complete each task to fulfill their goal is and what they must do to get things done. Doesn't make much sense to keep Maul in the dark with the stakes so high at this point in their grand scheme. And maybe later the traditional Sith back stabbing would kick in and Maul might make an attempt on Sidious' life to become the master.
