Personally (as someone only halfway through season 1), I like the way it is now, because it's not over exaggerated and over the top, the pacing is great and pretty realistic. Also as other people are saying Maomao does give that aroace vibe which I love.

Ngl, a lot of people sleep on Denki's quirk. I know his quirk does have pretty sucky side effects, but he can literally do over 1 million volts. Judging by if he's using a high amount amps that can cause serious damage and even death (I think, science is not my speciality and I'm a Denki glazer).
