I didn't do it in New Leaf or in New Horizons, with the rare exception of rewinding time a few hours, if I was late for an event, like the Bug Off. I'm not against people time travelling, I just don't know how people even have the time, or the attention span, to do more than a days worth of tasks. Seems a little greedy, or compulsive. Ultimately, play however you want.
