That theoretically would be possible, but the demon itself only goes after the most vulnerable, so the target would be those who have not tried to/failed to overcome their trauma. And since it happens over such a narrow time frame (7 days) and almost no way to gather information on the catalyst (the demon) it seems next to impossible.

Could be why the 3rd will have multiple protagonists, so we can see if they band together for , or fall apart separately.
