At launch, the S/V pokedex was 400 pokemon out of 1008 (the DLC would then expand it to 1025).

It already *did* make massive cuts and limitation for what past generation pokemon were even catchable in the game.

Except...these aren't the comics versions of these characters?

These are the Fox Movie versions, which are fairly different.

Movie!Pyro can innately sense fire anywhere in the immediate vicinity to him and is able to control it, rendering him immune to any fire automatically.

Meanwhile Comics!Pyro can only control fire that he can see and is vulnerable to any fire he isn't currently controlling.

So right there, we already see that there's a difference in power sets between Movie and Comics, so pulling out the comic version vulnerabilities just... doesn't make sense.

It's actually exceptionally easy to tell which characters are on the list:

"What did the Disney Company update the Disney Princess Trademark to include?"

Any other system of who is or isn't a Disney Princess is ultimately meaningless.

This is also why Anna and Elsa aren't on the list: their movies were successful enough to have their own multimedia trademark created for them under "Frozen" rather than be constrained with the Disney Princess Trademark.
