BTW, what scripted shows need to save us from the horror that is reality TV is scale back salaries (please, actors buy mansions easier than most of us buy groceries yet still complain that they are underpaid) and production costs. Rewatch some of the hits of the 80's. They are every bit as good without all the bells and whistles, so to speak.

Reign of Fire was too dark to ever be called good. And while I love Sam Worthington (Bootmen, Man On A Ledge, come on what's not to love) I can't bring myself to watch Clash Of The Titans. Harry Hamlin owned that role.

I think film makers need to start shopping for new ideas. Read a book from the library, listen to a couple CDs. There's so much material out there that could be done instead of rehashing what we've already seen. And Disney needs to stop with these remakes. Half the stuff isn't even the 'live action' it's supposed to be. It's done with computers! Lame!

While I can't comment directly on Saving Private Ryan, on of never having finished the film and not having a clue who was who in the part I saw, I will say Fillon is one of the most overhyped stars ever. Look at ABC's desperate attempts to explain why he's still in a show called The Rookie all these years later. He's name recognition and not much else.

Lost didn't really jump the shark, just lost the thread of its own narrative and bumbled all over hell trying to find its way back. If you disregard most of season 2 and all of 3 and 4, and a good chunk of 5, you slam back into the original semi-decent plot right near the end.

The ones that I thought should have made the list, if I understand sampling correctly which I'm not sure I do but anyway.. were Chevrolet which sampled Drift Away and Young Love And Saturday Nights which samples (and obliterated) Rebel, Rebel

Okay, this list represents people that don't watch many movies. The fact that you totally missed Mystic River which is a lesson in perfectly adapting a book proves that. And while I haven't personally read Lord of the Rings everyone who has said I should brace myself because it is nothing like the movie.

I think there's a much more memorable scene from Grey's. It was when the team was trying to revive Meredith after she drown in the bay. They had thrown Derek out and he was huddled in the hall. His friend, who I don't think he was even speaking to yet after the affair with Derek's wife scandal, knelt down and put a hand a Derek's shoulder. He didn't say a word but just acted as the grounding force Derek needed in that moment. Pure perfection.

The only two I've seen are the two Eastwood films. While I agree that everyone should avoid Unforgiven (by the end you sort of want to slit your wrists with a rusty soup can lid), i disagree with High Plains Drifter. It was a bit brutal, but simultaneously shows both the price of not acting and that in the end everyone faces their justice one way or another. Love that Clint was actually a ghost for once. By the way, you find out the man's identity in the end. Don't know if there was an actual name, but he certainly wasn't the Man With No Name character from the Dollar trilogy like some fans think. Just watch the closing scene carefully.

The thing modern audiences forget about Indiana Jones is it's James Bond only goofy. They are confused when it isn't a super serious, super hero movie. Hello! It ain't supposed to be. That was the problem with the two movies you forgot: Battleship and John Carter. Those should have been marketed as comedies. Fantastic films. Oh, and Battleship does tie into the game, if you dial into the weirdness.

I only skimmed the article, but even I can tell watchers of the Fox's X-Men who went in blind with no knowledge of the comics like me are going to have issues with the new version. Iceman and especially Angel were far from originals so a new X-men movie is going to have to break a lot of stories into little bits if they intend to revert to the comic line.

I think they got two wrong. Say Top Gun and everyone goes straight to Danger Zone. In fact, Maverick probably would have experienced a walkout if it hadn't replicated that opening. That's how I knew I was in for a good time. And the song for Back To The Future that we all is more likely Johnny B. Good.

From my knowledge of Randall Flagg, which is ittedly limited to The old miniseries, he's pretty straight forward. He's either Satan or the antichrist. Hard to call, since his girlfriend was pregnant when she went off the balcony.
