It was never confirmed he left due to creative differences, and I rather doubt that was the truth (or maybe he did, but not in the way everyone seems to think). I can't post links here, but there's a recent thread on twitter that explains the whole situation in depth, and after reading it I'm actually really excited to see Liam in the role.
