I’m not at all sure that dreams are “rarely so mundane.” I frequently have very mundane memories that I later realize were dreams: plausible conversions that never occurred, reasonable mistakes I never made, and the like. I think we just seldom our mundane dreams, or if we do we don’t even realize they were dreams unless or until we give them any serious thought.
