Matalas wanted nothing to do with the amazing season 1 and 2 cast. I was one of many who were blocked by him on Twitter for even suggesting pre-ending of season 2 that there were fans out there who wanted to see more of them. Then. when we complained at the end of season 2, he doubled down by suggesting fans should "keep quiet" about what we didn't like. Now, he wants to call it regrettable?

Sorry, Terry. No. It's too little, too late. As someone whose gateway to Trek was TNG, I'd much have prefered the Season 1 cast getting to meet the TNG cast and the torch. Legacy should have been Rios in command of the Stargazer and Seven given a new ship with Elnor at the Academy and Soji a diplomat.
