Because it's cliched as hell. They took something that was quite emersive and dumbed it down completely. There's not only a book, there's a short film kind of (on YouTube) , a role playing game and a soundtrack by the creator that dives into the world he's trying to create and this movie utterly ignores all that to make what they think is what fans want. I loved GotG, but I wish people would stop trying to imitate it in everything.
