Honestly I can't agree with u buffy us a weird universe with alot of crazy and weird theme from since day 1. And the comics got to capture that.

Erasing the comics feels like a big erasure of the universe and injustice to alot of the characters. If fans can go and read non canon books why can't the catch up on the comics.

Disney screw up star wars when they ignored so much of the canon comics and lore and now they can barely keep star wars together.

The comics also ended on a very open-ended way allowing for new stories to be told and continue .

Also why not do an animated version of the show we are in an Era of show doing adult animation telling amazing stories such as castlevania Harley Quinn even dc has all its animated series and shows like invincible. So why not just do an animated series where u can have all the stories of the comics present

Plus buffy is a multiversal with different timelines so u don't have to erase canon either especially considering boom comics made a couple stories for buffy taking place in different realites .

So erasing the comics and its canon I can't agree with that or ur reasoning
