I gotta say once again, it's just amazing how knowledgeably folks can discuss isekai and simply straight-up not mention The Vision Of Escaflowne. To spawn TWO markedly distinct manga AND get butchered by Fox Kids is a special kind of success, and Escaflowne deserves it.

Wow. 2-D animation, the veritable lifeblood of the entire art form of anime...2-D animation, which continues to make wild strides on various platforms and achieve heavy notice in such arenas as YouTube, is "outdated". Lost me on that one, chief.

I do have to catch up with some entries on this list, but I've championed Early Man, Boxtrolls, and James And The Giant Peach via review. There really is so much from this honored practice of animation that is worthwhile.
