I don't think it cheapens their relationship. Mary would obviously sing soft kitty to all of her children. Sheldon being Sheldon probably only let her sing it to him when he was sick and feeling helpless, as any other time he would deem it unnecessary. Therefore he associates the song with being sick. The other kids were just regular kids, so probably just let their mom sing to them whenever she liked.
