I had no problem with the ending of The Stand. The nuclear bomb was detonated by the hand of God. I presumed only Las Vegas was destroyed, and God being God was quite capable of making sure only the denizens of Las Vegas were affected. Lucy had Larry's twins in the spring. Stu and Frannie moved back to Frannie's home town, and Frannie is pregnant with Stu's baby. Life goes on.
