See AllThanks To Thunderbolts*, A Harsh Reality About The Avengers' Treatment Of Scarlet Witch Has Been Confirmed
Agree with one post about the potential for a follow-up movie. Perhaps one where the original Avengers’ surviving member(s) finally do reach out to Wanda. Or her own movie where she finally finds a way to heal on her own, maybe while facing an antagonist.
John Carpenter Disagrees With Fans Over His 1983 Cult Horror Classic, But I'm On The Director's Side
Agree it’s not as good as his other films just as the novel it’s based on isn’t as good as other Stephen King novels, but I still love both the film and the novel as I’m a fan of both Carpenter and King.
Had a blast watching the 40th anniversary screening a couple years ago. And I personally am glad there were some changes making the film less than 100% faithful to the novel. I don’t think certain things in the novel would’ve translated well to the screen.
But again, both still definitely on my personal favorites list, though maybe a little lower down than others. Just had no idea the actor playing Arnie was only 12 years younger than the actress playing his mom. Anyway, will watch it again at some point.
“Women With Power Become Absolute Monsters”: How DC Undermined Wonder Woman By Villainizing Her Legacy
This is why we need more women as writers, artists, editors, publishers and creators in comics.
With that said, I as a male reader am asking myself if I've ever honestly seen Amazons (or any other powerful female character who isn't a villain) as "monsters" simply for being powerful women. I think I see them the same way I see Wakandans in Marvel, as an advanced civilization keeping itself hidden from the rest of the world so it doesn't become like the rest of the world. Whether that's good or bad depends on who you ask, but it's human nature for kids in the lunchroom to feel uneasy around that one kid who's different and intimidating and keeps to themselves.
I read and barely only part of Amazons Attack years ago and don't know the full story. I do recall the attack on the U.S. seeming like an excessive response from the Amazons, sure, and a couple of them even questioning Queen Hippolyta's tactics. But I also seem to recall (was it Circe's?) manipulation having something to do with causing or exacerbating the situation. Bottom line: whether or not the Amazons were the real bad guys in this particular story (or maybe they were just manipulated and misled?), I don't think I stereotyped them as man-hating monsters simply for being powerful women, but that's just me.
I get what the author is saying about being perceived and treated by a different standard, though. Being of color, I've experienced it myself. Which again is why we need more women telling their own stories in comics. Happy Mothers Day weekend, especially to all the strong women raising strong girls! Peace!!
A Major Shift to Batman’s Lore Is Rewriting a Core Fact That Defined His Legacy for Years
Interesting. A woman who worships pagan gods restores a man’s faith in the Christian God. Either way, our world needs more people like Diana to restore faith in others.

Well I suppose there’s some potential with the alternate universe crossovers to create better endings for some of these folks.
