To be fair to them, the actress who played Nolan’s first TO left because of harassment on set (objectively not a good look) but it’s not like they wrote her out of the show; the actress chose not to return. As for Jackson West, again the actor asked to leave. He did not like portraying a cop. I only say this because the writers aren’t specifically targeting black people to remove from the show. I do wonder how much steam they’ll have because of all these mishaps, though.
