See All8 Strange '90s Comedies That Were More Weird Than Funny
Actually, Hairspray has proven to be the most mainstream of John Waters's movies because of the subject material...well, the remake, at least.
A lot of these movies were satirical, as well.
If You're New To The Horror Genre, Please Avoid These 10 Books
While I do agree that some of these books are definitely not the best way to dip one's toes into a very expensive genre, ya gotta start somewhere. I read Pet Semetary at 9 and fell in love with horror.
Amazon's Fourth Wing TV Show Must Nail One Detail Of Xaden's Character That Too Many Fan Castings Ignore
Rebecca Yarros has already stated that Xaden will be played by a POC. I trust her word more than someone who didn't do their research on the subject and decided to tell everyone what the show runners and casting directors SHOULD do.
If You're Just Getting Into Westerns, Please Avoid These 8 Movies
Here's the thing: Bone Tomahawk is a horror movie and I would be surprised if it popped up as a Western. But then again, Watership Down and Legend of the Overfiend used to regularly be found in the family section at video rental places, so...
Dead Man is another I don't see popping up; it's fairly obscure (not as much as say, Silent Tongue), and I don't know many Western fans that have even heard of it.
Honestly, it's more about the person wanting to get into the genre; there are so many subgenres. I wouldn't suggest Young Guns to someone who is a Louis L'Amour fan.
5 Great Urban Fantasy Book Series That Prove Wizards Have Street Smarts
The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison is also a great read; the series starts with Dead Witch Walking. The main character is a witch named Rachel Morgan, a law enforcement officer turned bounty hunter who runs the firm with her partners, Ivy, a living vampire, and a Pixie named Jenks (as well as his wife and dozens of children). 18 books in the series and worth the time. The setting is Cincinnati and...a few other places. Great characters, fun world and a human mistrust of tomatoes.
Hulu's Court Of Thorns & Roses Show Must Give One Rhysand Story More Attention Than The Books
I'm pleased to see someone else is bringing this up. Since we only see everything through Feyre's eyes, we've missed a lot of important details. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the books and without a critical eye on it, it's worth a read and reread.
