You speak for yourself, and a portion of the fan base. Not the entire fan base. I've been playing Pokémon since Red and Blue came out. I personally LIKE the turn based system.

They could instead make it an Active Turn Based system. Make the Speed stat matter. Your speed fills up your turn "bar" and when it's full you get to go. So pokemon with double the speed of another would go more often than the slower pokemon. Which sounds great till you realize slower pokemon would most likely have better defense than the speedster.

So to go back to my first point, no one can ever soak for a while fan base as there will always be others who don't agree. "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please ask if the people all of the time. "
