Jason and the Argonauts is 1960s. Ray Harryhausen in the 1980s would be Clash of the Titans. Other good or decent titles other than Excalibur, Conan, and Beastmaster are Dragonslayer, The Sword and the Sorcerer, Ladyhawke, and Willow.

I think it is a bit like The Abyss from James Cameron in that there were other similar films in the same year. I think it detracted from the greatness of it, and the same happened for The Prestige coming out the same year as The Illusionist.

Thus you prove his point of the solo actor versus ensemble as valid, whether or not you agree with his assessment. If you the actor more than the work then did the actor really do the job?

I realize that. My gripe is that the article does what so many articles do these days, just restates the same information for length or whatever reason. It just seems lazy, which is why I called it a wasted opportunity. It seems to create a vicious chicken/egg cycle that they make these articles for people who skim them, but, probably, people skim them because they repeat the same information throughout these articles.

Though several great films such as The Arrival and Her were not mentioned, Sunshine Cleaning is criminally underrated. Instead, the movies for which Amy Adams was nominated were twice entered into the record. What a wasted opportunity to really tout her accomplishments.
