Stormtroopers are over used in current TV, and movies. Originally they were supposed to be Vader's troops, so when you saw Stormtroopers you knew Vader was probably nearby. Imperial Army handled a lot of the jobs that Stormtroopers do in current media. Legends messed this up too.
