See AllSuperman Box Office Pressure Rises As Expert Says DC Has To Save Warner Bros From Going “The Way Of Fox”
bossk dude, it’s mostly a true comment. DC hits different all around from the comics to the films and has always trailed marvel. It’s a little bit more corny and cheesy and it’s approach and that doesn’t resonate with a broad of an audience as the Marvel stuff does. Just look at the box office of all the Marvel films versus the DC films that were considered even successful. The couple of DC films that were considered successful didn’t make as much money as the worst received marvel films. I was a huge fan of man of steel and I’m super pissed that we won’t get another Henry Cavill outing. I think the new Superman looks like crap.
"Streaming Has Had A Big Problem With Epic Fantasy": Author Brandon Sanderson Weighs In On Fantasy TV, Cites Rings Of Power & Wheel Of Time As Disappointments
A lot of fantasy just does not work on screen. Does anyone when they adapted the sword of truth series into a syndicated show called legend of the seeker? Terry Goodkind wrote an epic series that they turned into mostly a kid show that was so unfaithful to the source material. It was ridiculous. I watched it before reading the books and liked it but after reading the books, I was like what the hell was that? I wish somebody would readapt that for the screen more faithfully. That series is some games of thrones kind of material if done faithfully.

Silmarillion isnt a complete work. More like sketches and outlines and random ideas. Tolkien fans are already toxic about full on adaptations of things I can only imagine the toxicity in bringing Silmarillion to life. It’s partially part of the problem with the rings of power which greatly improved in season two

Joey
you do realize that would require raising the dead? Both authors are long deceased.
most fantasy authors aren’t exactly rolling in the money and when they get an offer, they don’t have the bargaining power for creative control and it’s usually about the money so living authors that sell their work, have a responsibility when they sell their work as well and a steak and why these things become so jacked up
Star Wars' New TV Show Needs To Avoid The Sequel Trilogy's Worst Villain Mistake
Agree. I think he walks right down the middle - he's what Han Solo was implied to be but never shown as, even in Solo.
“It Is A Business”: Rings Of Power Season 3 & Beyond Addressed By Amazon Studios Boss Given S2 Viewership
It’s based on fragments of things, the author never even finished writing. You Tolkien nuts just need to stop already. The show is not poorly written. Some of the performances weren’t the greatest. Like Gadriel but the actress tone down all the annoyances of the character in the second season and I think the second season really was a leap forward from the first.
