I had to turn American Idol "off" on Tuesday after watching a couple of the performances. Some of them were not very good and the judges thought they were "amazing". You are right that they need constructive criticism. It is a team of three judges and it can be uncomfortable if one judge give criticism and the other two do not. Lionel and Luke have been easy on the contestants as long as they have been judging. I refuse to blame Carrie for any of this as she did give constructive criticism in the beginning of the show. Something changed when the last 24 competed in Hawaii. I was very surprised when not one of the judges commented on mistakes that were made. I won't watch this show again if it continues like this. I enjoyed a couple of the performances, but also thought it was more like a concert than a competition. It speaks for itself when there has not been a successful winner in years.
