Watching Jellyfish while it was airing was such a deeply disappointing experience. Until around episode 9 it had been my favorite anime of its season and might've been an all-time favorite of mine, but the last few episodes throw away everything the show was building for an emotional gut punch that felt very out of character and, therefore, unearned.
