If they stopped with the political/social narratives and focussed on creating a well rounded, well thought out character in a well written story it might work. But not the way they have been doing things. Pretty much every project since Disney acquired the franchise has been terrible because of poor writing and blatantly obvious virtue signalling. The delusional narrative that Hollywood doesn't have any "strong female characters" is patently false. Ripley, Alice, Leah, Sarah just to name a few.

Personally I would love to see a movie trilogy based on the SWTOR game. Starting with the return of the Sith Empire. Satele Shan is Badass with some next level power. To get an idea of what could be done I suggest looking at the promo videos for the game on YouTube. Very well done. The first one has the most epic lightsaber battle I have ever seen. And the overall story of the game could easily translate to the big screen.
