I really appreciate the suggestion for making the various series. I would love to see it happen, but I am of the understanding that Pratchett's daughter has control of his works and may not be willing to allow it. I strongly believe that, with the right production company..and the right actors, such series would be a true Blessing to not only the world, but to Pratchett's surviving family! The one obstacle to strenuously avoid is trying to reinterpret the characters and/or the story. Pratchett's work should be filmed exactly as he wrote it..it won't be long before the viewers will get with the program!

Pratchett was a master of character development. He made his characters "Real" and believe able. I especially liked the way he portrayed Death. Nobody else ever thought to make Death not only not frightening, but actually likeable! Sam Vines is an excellent police chief type. For some reason I can't help but envision a Columbo type of character. I also enjoy Sgt. Colon, Knobby and Carrot. Angula is quite intriguing easy to picture as a very attractive female. Pratchett has a unique talent for bringing you inside the minds of his characters and making them more than real.

Christopher Lee also played Death in The Hogfather movie. Going Postal was also decent. I really enjoyed the Animated movie Soul Music !

Making films of the Discworld books is quite challenging.. especially when Pratchett was very subtle with some of his stuff. It's a big part of the attraction to the novels
