I’ve seen multiple articles describe the ending as the “literal hand of god” but that’s not how it goes. The character Ralph, who is very religious, describes the light as looking like the hand of god. This causes Larry, not very religious, to agree that it appears to be a hand. If the ending had been seen through the eyes of Nick or Glen, non religious, the light wouldn’t have been described as the “hand of god” but would have been different. The Stand can easily be seen with bo involvement of god or religion depending on which characters eyes you see events through
