House of Leaves was one of the most complex and challenging books I’ve ever read. I felt on so many levels that it wasn’t I reading the book, but the book reading me. It’s the literary equivalent of the old saying: When you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares into You!

Better than defeating the Devil with a mystical Snake in a Can, like in Needful Things. Most authors find it difficult to write a satisfying ending, and King is no different in that regard.

I was always of the mind that the world of Roland Deschain, depicted in the Dark Tower series was, in fact the same world in which The Stand took place, only hundreds of years in the future.
