The original trilogy actually had part 1B that tied The Matrix and Reloaded, that was of course the 16 minute animated "Flight of the Osiris", the first feature in the Animatrix. So the "Trilogy" was actually a Quadrilatry before the Abomination of Resurrections was released. The screenplay had interesting potential but was poorly executed ìn the production arena and they should have done whatever was necessary to bring Lawrence Fishburn back as Morpheus. The Frenchman was a disappointing appearance.
