I havent watched this show in ages. I can honestly say that announcing Carrie as a judge is what brought me back this season. They seem to be capitalizing on her coming home but missed an opportunity on maybe tapping in to that nostalgia by going back to that old formula.

They mostly only seem to air the auditions of the people that get a “Yes” that it leaves you feeling underwhelmed with some of the contestants that make it through because you end up comparing them with the others. They need more of the good ol day “bad auditions”.

I know they got rid of them because it embarrasses the hopefuls but cmon its the music industry and thats part of it.

The other things thats wrong is the overproduction of the sob stories. They dont seem genuine or to cringe. Lastly, the audition itself seems unfair across the board. Bring back the acapella audition! No people ing in or helping you play instruments.

Carrie however is doing fine!
